Individual Cupcake Stands
Handmade individual cupcake stands add elegance to a simple tea party. They show off the most formal wedding cupcake. Refreshingly delicate and richly decorated, these cup cake holders lift a tiny cake into the realm of luxury. I make my stands in two styles-one with a Victorian frill-which mimics the lines of my larger handmade Victorian Frill cake stands.
The Victorian stand is approximately 4 1/2 inches tall. The top is approximately 3 inches in diameter. The delicate stem is attached to a weightier base which gives the whole piece balance and stability. It is handmade of porcelain on the potter's wheel and decorated with pottery piping which is called slip.
The second style has a slightly cupped top and carved edge.I call this style the fluted cupcake stand. It too stands approximately 4 1/2 inches tall and has a top diameter of approximately 3 inches. The slightly concave top delicately contains each individual cake.
