And Now A Little About Me

What about me, you ask?

I grew up in the rural Midwest as the youngest of 6 siblings. We ate organic food from the garden, picked wild black raspberries, made homemade bread and learned to sew our own clothes.

Pssssst....run your mouse over my picture before you finish reading.

When I was in second grade I took after school art classes from Mrs. Smith, the high school art teacher. I wanted to learn to use the pottery kick wheel, but Mrs. Smith told me that my legs were too short! I spent 5 years making coil and pinch pots until I was tall enough for that pottery kick wheel... and I fell in love! I think that I been "playing in the mud" ever since.

Since 1977 my full time business has been making pottery. My current studio/showroom is shared with two Newfoundland dogs and two Manx kitties. I make porcelain oven to tableware, decorative raku tiles and porcelain Christmas ornaments in a variety of shapes and colors. My work has been purchased by happy customers throughout the United States and Canada and from over 15 other countries.

This site is all about my handmade cake stands. I design and make them one at a time. Each one is just that little bit different from all the others. They add an air of celebration to any table-whether used for food or decoration. They are fun for me to make and I hope bring great joy to the people who use them.

Thanks for visiting!
